Ordre du mérite

Each year, Brossard proudly honours exceptional residents at its Ordre du mérite award ceremony. At this prestigious, city-organized event, winners are presented with an honorary medal for their outstanding achievement in the following areas:

Nominations for the 2018 Ordre du mérite will be accepted between November 1 and December 15, 2017.

PRESENTING A CANDIDATE

You will find below a list of documents to provide to complete a nomination dossier.

Documents to include

  • A duly completed Nomination Form, which is available here or in a paper version at the Services Brossard counter, located at 2001 Boulevard de Rome, or the Bibliothèque de Brossard Georgette-Lepage library, located at 7855 Avenue San Francisco.
  • The signature of the person supporting the candidacy. The person signing cannot be a family member of the candidate.
  • Include with the application any relevant documents (newspaper clippings, awards, rewards or other recognitions).
  • Provide 3 to 6 photos of the candidate.

Note

The City wishes to receive candidate nominations by December 15, 2017 at the latest, so as to honour the recipients on March 15, 2018.
The Ordre du mérite cannot be given more than once to the same person. On the other hand, the same candidate may be nominated more than once.

Selection Process

The selection committee will consider only the information contained in the dossier when submitted and the accompanying documents.

Appointment

The members of the selection committee will analyze the applications and submit their recommendations to the Municipal Council. A recipient of the Brossard Ordre du mérite retains this honour for life; no one can receive it a second time.
